Past the Gamble Gate, Each Nudge Lifts the Multiplier by One

Three Torpedo Symbols do not start the Free Spins. They start a decision. Razor Returns places its Gamble between every trigger and the first spin. The wheel offers a higher starting multiplier. Its No Prize segments forfeit the round before it begins. The rules price that habit. Never gambling holds the return at 96.55%; always gambling lowers it to 96.24%. Earlier still, the Ante Bet raises the stake by 10% to make the trigger more likely. Past the gate, the feature runs on the Nudge. Mystery Symbols fill reels two and four, drop one row per spin, and each drop lifts the Progressive Multiplier by one. Nudge Up Symbols push a stack back and extend the round. The last nudge, the one that clears the grid, adds nothing.

Razor Returns: A Feature Clock the British Player Cannot Buy

A menu that prices its own waiting time

Razor Returns is a 5x5 Push Gaming slot with 40 Lines and High volatility. The published return is 96.55%. Shark-infested waters supply the artwork. The documented build is organised around five purchase tiles. They cost between 106x and 550x the base bet. Each tile buys a starting position inside a feature, not an outcome. The 4 Torpedo tile costs 186x. It merely opens the free spins at a x5 Total Multiplier. Players in Britain will not see this menu. Current British licence rules forbid paid entry to bonus features. The game that reaches a UK player is the un-bought version. There the Ante Bet, labelled Push Bet on screen, is the only shortener of the wait.

Inside the feature, time is the multiplier

No fixed spin count exists in the Shark Bonus. Reels 2 and 4 open filled with Mystery Symbols. Each spin nudges every stack down one row. Each nudge raises the Total Multiplier by one. Stacks that reach the bottom leave the grid. The feature ends when none remain. The final nudge adds nothing. A Nudge Up Symbol moves stacks back and extends the round. Before the first spin, a Gamble wheel sits between trigger and play. It can raise the starting multiplier. A losing segment ends the feature before it begins. One documented 4 Torpedo round shows the clock at work. The meter ran from x5 to x53. Banners escalated from BIG WIN 12.67 fun to RAZOR WIN 322.55 fun. The round paid 604.95 fun against a 93.00 fun purchase. That is a single observation, not an expectation. Duration, not spin count, is what the game pays for.

Bankroll management and volatility explained

Every Free Spins award in Razor Returns passes a wheel that can raise the prize or void it. Push Bet raises the stake for a trigger chance that stays unmeasured. Paid entries buy a starting point, not a result. One purchase buys a different feature entirely.

Gambling can void the whole feature
The Gamble Feature follows every Free Spins award, bought entries included. Each gamble risks the entire feature on a wheel whose segment odds are not printed. With Push Bet off, documented RTP reads 96.55% when every offer is declined. Gambling every offer lowers it to 96.24%.
Push Bet costs 10% for an unmeasured boost
Push Bet is set before a spin and adds 10% to the stake. The higher Free Spins trigger chance this buys is not quantified. Players who never gamble see a documented 96.55% RTP with it on or off. Players who always gamble see 96.16% on and 96.24% off. Autoplay must be stopped before the toggle can be switched off.
Bought free spins fix entry, not outcome
Four tiles on the buy menu offer direct entry into the Free Spins Feature. Prices run from 106x to 550x the Base Bet. Bought starting multipliers run from x1 to x25. The Random tile reveals its tier only after payment. Documented RTP spans 95.99% to 96.78% across tiles and gamble choices. Three of the four documented purchase runs settled below their price. Single runs predict nothing about later ones.
Razor Reveal can stop short of Free Spins
The buy menu's Razor Reveal tile costs 500x the Base Bet. It fills all 25 positions with Golden Shark Symbols at the start. Torpedo Symbols can surface during the reveal and trigger the Free Spins Feature. They can also fall short. One documented run found two torpedoes and paid 97.50 fun on a 250.00 fun price. Documented RTP prints at 96.68% without gambling and 96.66% with it.

Game modes

Razor Returns runs these items as one chain. The 5x5 base round is the default state. Push Bet adjusts that state. Three or more Torpedo Symbols leave it for the Gamble Feature, and that wheel precedes the Free Spins Feature. The two buy options pay for direct entry at set prices.

Free spins reels show green Mystery Symbol stacks nudging down, All Wins x53, Free Spins: 3, Balance 854.65 fun
Base GameThis is the default state every round starts from and a lost gamble returns to. Forty fixed lines score left to right. Wins pay against the total base bet, not per line. Three or more Torpedo Symbols here open the path to the Free Spins Feature.
Push BetThis toggle modifies the base stake. It raises the Base Bet by 10%, measured as 0.50 fun becoming 0.55 fun. The raise buys a higher chance of triggering the Free Spins Feature. Wins still settle against the Base Bet, not the raised amount. Switching off is allowed only once a round ends.
Free Spins FeatureEntry comes from three or more Torpedo Symbols. Their count sets the starting Total Multiplier at x1, x5 or x25. Reels 2 and 4 begin filled with ten Mystery Symbols. Each spin nudges them down one position and adds 1 to the multiplier. The feature ends only when none remain.
Gamble FeatureThis offer sits between any Free Spins trigger and the first spin, bought entries included. Collect keeps the awarded starting multiplier. A wheel spin can raise it, up to five successful gambles. Landing No Prize forfeits the free spins and returns play to the Base Game.
Buy 3 Torpedo Free SpinsThis purchase costs 106x the Base Bet. It enters at the lowest torpedo tier, starting the Total Multiplier at x1. The Gamble Feature follows before the spins. Documented RTP is 96.27% without gambling and 95.99% with it.
Buy 4 Torpedo Free SpinsThis purchase costs 186x the Base Bet, more than the three-torpedo tile. It starts the Free Spins Feature one tier higher, at a x5 Total Multiplier. The Gamble Feature still follows first. Documented RTP is 96.52% without gambling and 96.31% with it.

How to place a bet

Matching symbols pay across 40 fixed Lines on the 5x5 grid of Razor Returns. The objective is line wins and the Free Spins Feature, triggered by Torpedo Symbols. Awarded Free Spins first offer a Collect-or-Gamble decision, and that choice can repeat.

  1. Set the Total Bet

Each round costs one Total Bet, adjustable from 0.10 to 100.00. Set it before spinning. All wins are evaluated against the Base Bet amount, not per Line.

  2. Spin the reels

Press Spin for one paid round. Symbols stop on the 5x5 grid. A Line win needs matching symbols running consecutively from the leftmost reel. Only the highest combination on each Line pays.

  3. Resolve any feature triggers

Mystery Symbol stacks may land and open to reveal paying symbols. They then nudge down one position per spin until they leave the grid. A Golden Shark reveal instead starts the Razor Reveal Feature. Three or more Torpedo Symbols award the Free Spins Feature.

  4. Collect or gamble, then play out

Free Spins start after the Gamble Feature. Collect keeps the won Total Multiplier. Gamble can raise it; a No Prize segment forfeits the Free Spins. In the feature, Mystery Symbols nudge down each spin. Each nudge raises the Total Multiplier by one. Spins continue until no Mystery Symbols remain.

Part of the series

Razor

Razor Returns keeps the original game's core loop. Mystery stacks land, nudge down and lift a free-spins multiplier with no fixed spin count. Around that loop it rebuilds almost everything. The grid grows from Razor Shark's 5x4 with 20 lines to 5x5 with 40. A Push Bet toggle, a gamble wheel and five bonus buys sit on top. Razor Shark has none of those. Razor Ways has its own versions, with three Push Bet tiers and eight buys. The gamble wheel appears in no other member. Its printed 100,000x win cap is the family's largest. Razor Ways prints 25,000x.

Studio behind the game

Push Gaming

Push Gaming is a slot developer founded in London in 2010. It began by adapting land-based casino games for online play. In 2015 it pivoted to creating original online slots. A 2020 relaunch made it a full-service B2B supplier with its own gaming platform.

The studio is known for high-volatility titles such as Jammin' Jars, Razor Shark and Big Bamboo. Sequels and spin-offs extend several of its series. Push Gaming is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission and the Malta Gaming Authority. Since 2023 it has been majority-owned by LeoVegas Group, part of MGM Resorts International. It continues to operate under its existing management.

Our take

What players like

  • Push Bet costs +10%, raises the trigger chance and keeps RTP at 96.55%: the one accelerator open in the UK.
  • The rules print the gamble's price: always gambling cuts RTP from 96.55% to 96.24%, so collecting is the clean default.

Downsides to consider

  • UK players never see the five-buy menu, so the best printed return, 96.78% on five torpedoes, stays out of reach.

The base game reaches Britain intact. The 96.55% RTP, Push Bet and the open-ended free spins all survive. The five-tier purchase menu and its 96.78% ceiling do not. Collecting after each trigger keeps the printed figure intact. The gamble wheel hands some of it back. High volatility and thin line pays make the wait for torpedoes the real price of admission.

Common questions about the game

Does the Gamble feature change the RTP of Razor Returns?

Yes. The RTP is 96.55% when the Gamble feature is never used, with or without Push Bet active. Always gambling lowers it to 96.24%, or 96.16% with Push Bet on. These figures already include the 100,000x win cap; a lower operator-set cap would change them.

How do the free spins work in Razor Returns?

Three or more Torpedo scatters anywhere on the reels trigger the feature. Three award a 1x starting multiplier, four award 5x and five award 25x. Reels 2 and 4 begin filled with Mystery Symbol stacks. Each spin nudges every stack down one row and raises the total multiplier by 1. The round ends only when no Mystery Symbols remain, so its length is not fixed.

Can UK players buy the bonus in Razor Returns?

No. The rules list five purchase options priced from 106x to 550x the base bet, but UK regulation does not permit feature buys. The autoplay panel is also absent from UK play. Free spins still trigger naturally through Torpedo scatters, and the Razor Reveal feature remains part of normal play.
